AT&T PREPAID Internet

Anyone know why I can't reach any websites via my phones data. I have reset and turned off my phone and waited for 10 minutes multiple times and that doesn't work. I have tried turning data off, waiting a few minutes and back on to no avail. I can receive and send messages but even my messages are being sent through SMS for iPhone users. When I open a browse I get an error message saying that my internet could not be activated.

Hi @ZenVibes13

Thank you for reaching out to us today. We're sorry to hear about the reception issues you've been having but we'll be delighted to assist you. Where are you located? Are you currently experiencing service issues today (April 10th)? What kind of phone do you have? Is this affecting calls and texts as well? Have you tried any troubleshooting? With more details, we'll be able to proceed.

Hello, sorry to reply back so late but it seems that my moms iPhone 7 Plus is incompatible with the SIM cards that are provided. I have talked to tech reps 2 times and have gone to a store in person but no one seems to know why and have ruled that it just may be the phone. There are no issues with text and calls but using data for websites such as YouTube or even launching a browser doesn't work. We received a new SIM card that is compatible with older phones and it still doesn't work. It (Edited per community guidelines) that we had to pay the money for a plan that she can't use completely so it seems that the only option left is to try a different carrier.

Hi @ZenVibes13,

We understand how frustrating it must be to be unable to use data.

However, we are curious to know what specific AT&T plan the line is having.

  • Is the phone able to use WiFi
  • Is the device AT&T branded or unlocked from another carrier
  • Did you try the SIM card on another device to be sure it is not the device having difficulty connecting to cellular data

Let us know so we can assist further.

The device is Unlocked and was bought unlocked straight from the manufacturer. It can access WiFi without a problem but we haven't tried putting it into another phone. It is the AT&T Prepaid plan.

Excellent! And thank you for reaching back to us @ZenVibes13,

Please try to put the SIM card in another phone that works with AT&T and see what you experience. If it works, then it might be a manufacturing defect but we will not know until we have that information.

Please also try other SIM cards on the phone and see what happens.

Feed us back so we can assist further.

Other SIM cards work fine and she’s had AT&T in the past. But it doesn’t seem to work now, the SIM card does work on other devices thought.
