ATT prepaid activation problem
For the last 4 hours I have been trying to activate my new wireless prepaid service. The on line system recognizes SIM/ICCID, IMFI, telephone number, and plan 16GB-12 month, but does not process out going calls and incoming calls go to Verizon voice mail and on line system will not allow me to set up password, voice mail, and voice mail pass word because temporary pass word via text, the only option, are never received. Calls to 800 numbers do not recognize my telephone number, but does recognize my SIM. The 800 never responds to a request for representative. It requires repeated answers to same questions and then the automated system transfers call to attendant, it drops the call. This happened 5 times. Big mistake transferring wireless service to ATT. If ATT is going hold done cost making nearly impossible reach a person, the automated system should work. ATT does not care about customers and service. They only value their terrible systems.

It's AT&T prepaid issue, sounds like your number has not yet ported. If your number has not ported your Verizon service should still be active in order to call AT&T
~~~~
AT&T Prepaid $300 for 12 months Promo (ADVICE WHEN SIGNING UP)
After signing up for AT&T Prepaid and the $300 promo offer and having issues with activation:
1. Sign up via website and fill in all appropriate information including porting info, shipping address, credit card, etc. SIM card may be shipped overnight via FedEx.
2. Once you receive your SIM card and have your phone ready, call 866 975 0050 to activate via phone and have your AT&T Order # handy.
4. Explain you'd like to activate your service and provide phone number, SIM card and IMEI. The agent will then ask you for payment to activate service.
5. \*\*THIS IS IMPORTANT\*\* To avoid getting double charged, tell them you've already provided that when you ordered and tell them they can do this via your AT&T Order #. Provide that to them and do NOT provide a credit/debit card to them.
6. If they claim they can't do this, ask to speak with a supervisor or someone else. Your account will be activated and within 30 minutes or so the payment of $300 + taxes will get charged to your credit card you provided during the initial order. Your service will not work until this payment is applied, but in my experience it took anywhere from 5 min to 25 min.
7. Once this is complete, you can setup your account online and manage your account via the website: [https://www.paygonline.com/websc/loginPage.html](https://www.paygonline.com/websc/loginPage.html)
If you provided a credit card number and end up getting charged twice, call the AT&T Payments/Refunds line at: 866 608 3007 and they will look up your account and process the refund.
Good news number transfer complete and can get data and text. Bad news it took 1 .5 waiting on hold to talk to tech and he could not get making call and getting calls work. It was nice to finally have a person welling to help vs. endless loops of ATT systems that don’t work. His solution: Give it some time. He promised to call back in 1 hour. Still can not or receive calls and no call back yet. 3 to 4 bars. It worked when I had Verizon.
I have my SIM card that I received from the store, and my own phone. When I went through the site it gave me a new number which I did not want I wanted to bring my number From Verizon. How do you talk to a live person to port the call from Verizon? I already got my temporary PIN and completed all the request online. PLEASE Help I need to get my dad and myself set up without all the nonsense to do it!
I ordered SIM card from ATT prepaid. Not any SIM but find on their website says you want transfer your number from Verizon. You order SIM with a prepaid card. Go to the Verizon web site an get a 6 digit transfer PIN which you input to ATT. ATT then UPS a SIM card with your phone number burned in. Takes about 2 days. When you get it install it, you call number in SIM instructions to activate 866-975-0050. My last problem was phone software was not latest. ATT Store May do it for you if you buy plan there.
