at & t is deceptive
I have a go phone with att for maybe six years. I have always been able to receive and send pictures in a text without being charged for it. Now out of the blue att is charging me for every picture I am sent of my grandchildren. I called and they said that is the plan you have. That is not the plan I chose when I chose att. Very, Very, Very disappointed in this nickle and diming att is so focused on.

Since you provide no details of what plan you have or thought you had, there is no way to say whether there is any deception or not. Is it possible the picture "texts" you did not get charged for was because they weren't actually texts but some other messaging system such as iMessage?

Thanks for responding. The plan I have is 25.00 per month for 250 talk time and unlimited texting . I have this time received pictures of my grandkids and now as of this past Friday att has decided to start charging me for it. It seems they want me to choose a different plan , which of course costs more. The deception is being suddenly charged with no warning whatsoever.

Did you recently change from a basic phone to a smartphone?
The plan has no data, and currently offers unlimited talk and text.

You must be on a very old plan because I've never heard of the plan you describe. ATT hasn't had plans based on minutes for years and the minute plans I remember did not include texting. Texting was always an extra charge. Unfortunately, with very old plans it is difficult to prove you shouldn't be charged for texts. If you are unsuccessful getting them to reverse the charges, you might consider switching to the prepaid $30 plan. It is unlimited talk and text and if you put the plan on autopay, you get a $5 discount.

Actually they still have the plan so I'm not sure how current you are on all of their plans. I am aware of the 30.00 plan. I am on a budget that is why I have a go phone in the first place. I think att should have warned that there were going to be new and or extra charges. I don't appreciate the blindsiding.

I'm very current on plans and there is no $25 250 minute gophone plan to my knowledge. If you would point me to it, I'd appreciate it.

I am sorry that you can't find it. I don't know that I could either. It was a plan that they did a whole lot of advertising for three years ago, maybe four, but I don't think so. But when I check customer service , the recording always says you are on the 25.00 monthly plan, which includes 250 minutes of talk time, and unlimited texting. You have *** minutes left in your plan.
That is what it said word for word one minute ago.

@parker54 you are correct in that that is your plan and you have 250 talk mins and unlimited texts. However, that plan while still offered to you because that is the one you chose a few years ago. A customer cannot get that plan today. As @sandblaster noted, you may want to look at the $30 plan with autopay also comes out to the same $25. This plan has unlimited talk and text and specifically spells out pictures. Here is the info from the gophone site on the texts....................
Includes unlimited text, picture, and video messages in the U.S.
Includes unlimited text, picture, and video messages from the U.S. to Mexico, Canada, and over 100 countries.
This may fit your needs better today.
