Existing HBO Max users have access to the Max app and are able to use their existing credentials to log in. Here's how to sign in on your Apple TV.
Open the Max app.
Tap the Sign In button.
Choose Sign In Through TV or Mobile Provider.
A pop up displays: Do you want to “Allow Max to use your TV provider subscription?”
Tap Don’t Allow, and follow the directions to sign in at Max.com using the code shown on the TV. Be sure to select “AT&T” as the provider when signing in and use their AT&T sign in credentials.
Tap Allow ONLY if the customer already gets Max through a TV Provider and choose not to use their wireless or Internet account.
