Login trouble HBOMAX

I recently updated my email on AT&T account.  Having login trouble now on mobile app.  HBOMAX has the old email on file.  Could this cause my login problems and how or where can I fix the problem?

We understand the importance of you being able to access your HBO Max, @Justjustin179.


 Our first recommendation would be to uninstall the HBO Max app, then try reinstalling it and log in again.


Our second recommendation would be to reset your HBO Max password


Here's how to reset your password:

  1. Go to
  2. Enter your account email and then choose Submit.
  3. Check your inbox for a 'Reset Your HBO Max Password' email sent by HBO Max. This email should arrive within a few minutes. No Reset Password Email?
    This means the email you entered isn't in use by an HBO Max account. Do you have another email address? Repeat these steps for each of your email addresses
  4. Open the 'Reset Your HBO Max Password' email and choose Reset Password.
  5. Enter a new password and then choose Save Password.

If you don't get a reset password email, please see Can't reset password.


Our third recommendation would be to use the troubleshoot and fix resource for signing into HBO Max. Just simply click the links that best relate to your sign in issue.

YEP!!!  Same exact thing is happening to me!!  Pretty sure this was just a scam to get people to either stay with AT&T or sign up in the first place, I too have had massive issues with this so called "free" service, it's an exercise in frustration and literally I'm pretty sure it's a scam, their answer is always uninstall & re-install, if you are doing this constantly it's NOT a service!!  And it doesn't work!! They seriously need to fix this, it's SO frustrating!!
