HBOMax AT&T login link taking me to DirecTV login

We are trying to sign in to HBOMax on the Roku. We select "Sign in with Provider", then click on AT&T because we have Uverse. However, the AT&T link takes us to a DirecTV sign in page, and our Uverse login credentials don't work.

An update from our side...the number that we were sent to call about this issue is for those who are accessing HBOMax with a wireless or Internet account. Since my mom has Uverse, now they have to find who we contact about it from that side. Because my mom has a cable subscription, they are acting like it's odd she wants to use it on a Roku, too. But what if you want to watch on a laptop or have another TV in another room without a cable box? Super frustrating. I just want someone to realize that the link to sign in to HBOMax with a provider for AT&T is not working for Uverse subscribers because it's taking us to a DIRECTV sign in page. Someone needs to fix that routing of that link.

I am abandoning AT&T for help with this for now because the new number they sent me to has options for if you're having trouble logging into your AT&T account online. I am going to HBOMax now for help. I'll keep you all updated again.

Well, sometime between when I created this a week ago and now, our Uverse credentials now work on the DIRECTV login page that HBOMax sends us to when clicking on AT&T. I felt a bit foolish when I was on the HBOMax chat and it worked because it definitely wasn't working a week ago.

There isn't an HBOMAX tile. I can't sign in using my qualified wireless plan, Unlimited Plus. Can't verify my subscription.

Hello, @GBUTUCO! We want to help you access HBO Max.

We do need you to provide which streaming service you are attempting to access HBO Max through, so we can know why the HBO Max tile is not appearing, and which sign in information are you using to log into HBO Max?

Furthermore, we look forward to your response and welcome any additional questions you may have.

Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!

The tile is missing. I am trying to login using my ATT wireless provider, MyATT login with my qualified wireless plan.

Tried on:

TV

iPhone

Laptop

Please re-link my account to HBOMAX.

Hello @GBUTUCO, we are here to help you with your HBO Max.

This issue is usually caused when a customer has multiple products with AT&T that were getting HBO included, and one went away.  For example, if you had wireless and DirecTV, you may have had HBO Max included with both of them.  However, you may have lost that bonus for one or the other product based on your plan or promotion expiring.  This can cause confusion in the system.

To resolve, please log out of all of your devices that use HBO Max.

  • Go to your HBO Max Account by clicking on your username (on laptop/PC) or settings (on phone).
  • Choose "Manage Devices"
  • Choose  "Sign All Devices Out"

Once all HBO Max enabled devices are logged out, then try logging in with only the product you currently get HBO Max included with.  If you have DirecTV with HBO Max, use your DirecTV login.  If you get HBO Max with our unlimited wireless plan, use your AT&T login.

Review our article with steps to troubleshoot this error on HBO Max Help page.

Try this and let us know if this helps!
