Can’t login with AT&T credentials

I am a subscriber to AT&T mobile unlimited elite plan, but HBO Max can’t verify my subscription and doesn’t let me in. How do I fix it?

You need to activate it first on your ATT account page from a browser then select ATT in providers for HBO Max, it’s not clear that you need to activate it to add to your account and it’s not already done.

Problem is that there is no option to activate it under My Account on AT&T website.

Hello @agj60, we're here to help you with signing into HBOMAX!

If you can't sign in on your phone or tablet, try these steps:

Step 1: Try another device

Try signing in to HBO Max on another supported device, e.g. a computer at http://sm.att.com/a17a3720 or your TV.

If you can sign in on another device, see Troubleshoot phone or tablet. If you still can't sign in, try the next step.

Step 2: Reset your password

Try resetting your password. If this doesn't work, see Can't reset password. If you're signing in through a TV or mobile provider, see Can't sign in through provider.

Step 3: Restore your subscription

If you started your subscription using the HBO Max app, try restoring your app store subscription.

Let us know if this helps.

Problem is that AT&T doesn’t show option to activate HBO Max on My Account, as it should. I am with an AT&T Rep trying to solve it.

We're happy to help with your HBO Max login, @richardpullman.

We have some useful information to help troubleshoot your HBOMAX login. Begin by verifying you are using the correct user ID and password:

  • Scroll down to the have AT&T service that includes HBO section.
  • Go to Wondering what your AT&T ID is and verify you are using the right user ID.
  • You can also reset your password to resync your account.

If that does not help, proceed down to the sign in solutions section. This will provide useful tips to help setup your account.

Let us know if this helps.

It is likely a bug in their system upon enrollment. A helpful soul from customer service fixed it for me.
