Missing HBO channels with DirecTv from HBO Max

I had HBO for Life when I signed up with DirecTv and combined my ATT wireless bill, this was great for 3 1/2 years. Fast forward to when HBO Max 1st came out and we got free HBO Max with our fee HBO subscription. My problem is now I have upgraded to Unlimited Elite wireless plan which has free HBO Max included. I was starting to get billed for Max because it was tied to DirecTv side so tech support had to cancel Max with Direct and open Max on wireless plan so it would be free. This is all good and I do have access to HBO Max. OK here is the real problem my DirecTv had free HBO channels up until 2 days ago when we made the change.

How do I get them back?

I basically had the same issue with DirecTV. Had free HBO through my old wireless plan and a $25 video credit. Upgraded to the newest unlimited wireless plan and lost my video credit and started to get charged for HBO. I kind of new this was going to happen.

By removing HBO from your DirecTV account basically removed the linear channels you had (starting at 501). HBOMax is a streaming service and will not give you those physical channels. You would need to pay the extra $15 to get those back on DirecTV.

@daystrom That is not true. Getting free HBO Max through your wireless plan also gets you the HBO channels on Directv. You should not be getting charged for HBO on Directv.

@CBro70 You probably just need to be patient and wait for HBO to be re-added to your Directv. As long as the billing address for your wireless and Directv are the same, it should happen automatically but may take several days. When I got free HBO through my wireless plan, it took about a week to get added to my Directv account.

@sandblaster I was told this by an AT&T rep and read the same thing on this forum from others. Was told that the streaming service that's offered free through your wireless plan does NOT include the linear channels on DirecTV.

@daystrom I don’t know what to tell you other than you were told wrong. As long as your Directv account has the same billing address as your wireless account, you should be getting HBO free. Here is how it is listed on my Directv bill:

 with AT&T Unlimited &More Premium or WatchTV

Hmmm. Mine is listed like that but with $14.99. Did you have the free HBO offer on your account prior to HBOMax?

Also, I'm in the process of switching to AT&T TV service and although I still have HBOMax, I don't have the 'channels' on the streaming service either. Says I have to subscribe at $14.99 a month. 

That's where the rep said the free Max through wireless was for the app only.

Wonder if this is where the confusion is. Since the op and I both had HBO to begin with, adding HBOMax on top of it messed things up. 

Regardless, I cancelled my dtv service today. Last bill of $196 just made it too expensive compared to what I'm paying for At&t tv streaming service.
