HBOMax conversion to MAX
Still trying to find out if we are keeping 4K/ATmos streaming on out AT&T/MAX accounts?
Since there are now 3 tiers of MAX
Ad-supported
Ad-Free (1080P)
Ultimate (4K/Atmos)
When i log in to my MAX account, it shows (AD-Free)

Hello CTPleaseHelp, we're here to provide information about the new Max plans.
AT&T customers will continue to have access to 4K and 3 consecutive streams in their grandfather plans until a date yet to be determined. Eligible AT&T Customers are not currently in the Max Ad-Free or Max Ultimate Ad-Free plan they are in a grandfathered version. Customer will still have access to their original HBO Max plan features for a minimum of six months following the launch of Max.
Hopes this helps you out.

So do the att bundled customers on elite, only get uhd/atmos on older (hbo) content for these 6mo? I havnt tested that, but i can tell you that the discovery content is 100% coming in hd on all my tv apps and my directv gemeni.

It would not surprise me that at the end of the 6 month "grace" period for existing customers to continue with 4k HDR/4 users, they will have to move up to the Ultimate tier.

@dnalex Not much that AT&T can do about it now. WBD owns Max now so they are calling the shots. Some platforms are currently not supporting 4k HDR (AppleTV4k for example) and other platforms are (WebOS, Tizen OS) are. It's all up to Max now to correct it. And by the time they do, you will probably have to upgrade to the Ultimate tier for $20 per month. Bundled services don't last forever so my guess is that you will eventually have to cancel the Ad-Free tier (level 2) and subscribe as a new customer for the Ultimate tier (level 3) if you still want 4k HDR/Atmos and 4 streams.

Thank you, @OttoPylot I have WebOS, and it does play in 4K there. Annoying, but at least I have access for now.

Do keep in mind that all of this is speculation at this point in time, but given the track record of providers, mergers, bundled options, etc I don't think it's too far off of the mark.

@dnalex check discovery content. This issue is still account based, in addition to apparently being platform based. Our accounts do not get uhd/atmos for any discovery owned network programming, only the hbo content. And thats on a device that supports it.
I think were basically screwed on this unless they let us pay the difference, and who knows what will happen in 6mo...

Per this link: https://forums.att.com/conversations/max-account-billing/hbomax-conversion-to-max/646cf0dfd72b5e6adff6091f?commentId=6470268867e5b16786161ef7
I am not getting Max content in 4K and only have access to the middle tier 1080P streaming.
