HBO Max perpetual login issue

I have been having an issue with logging in to my HBO Max account. When I go to play a show, it asks me to log in through the provider. After I do that, the same screen comes up to log in. It’s just a continuous loop of making me log in time after time and it still doesn’t play the show. This happens on the iOS app and on my laptop. There are also days when it works fine without any login issue. Yesterday it was working fine until I went to play the next episode of a show, it started acting up again. The screen to log in kept showing up even though I was already logged in and successfully viewing something. It’s really confusing because it’s so temperamental. Is there a watch limit or something that prevents me from watching anything? I have HBOMax included free with my Unlimited plan and I’m the only user of the account.

We'd be happy to help you end the continuous login loop when trying to access HBO Max, @blackhummingbird.

Please attempt to clear your browser history completely, and clear the cookies and cache as well. 

  • For IOS, you will need to go into settings, tap safari, and click Clear History and Website Data.
  • On your browser you will need to press Control + Shift + Delete and select the items you wish to delete.
  • Then select Delete, OK, and Clear. Re-open the browser and attempt to sign in again.

Hi,

I tried that and it’s still happening for some reason. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the HBOMax app as well and it’s still happening. Do you have any other ideas?

Can you clarify with us how you currently have access to HBO Max? Is it via standalone, or did you receive it bundled with one of your AT&T services? If it is bundled with an AT&T service, can you let us know which one? This will help us determine the next troubleshooting steps for you.

Unlimited Starter does not include HBO Max. Eligible unlimited plans include:

  • AT&T Unlimited Elite
  • AT&T Unlimited PlusSM
  • AT&T Unlimited Plus EnhancedSM
  • AT&T Unlimited ChoiceSM
  • AT&T Unlimited Choice IISM
  • AT&T Unlimited Choice EnhancedSM
  • AT&T Unlimited &More℠ Premium (if you chose HBO® as your premium channel)

Did you recently change from one of these plans to Unlimited Starter? If so, that may be the issue.
