HBO Max Login results in blank page

Hi,

After I select ATT from the Providers and supply my username and password, I get forwarded to auth.hbogo.com (title of the page is POST data). This is a blank page. Nothing else happens after that. Please advise.

Thanks

@JDoetsch,

Are you using an Samsung phone, by any chance?

We have heard cases where Samsung users have run into this when using the Google browser and not Samsung's bulit-in Internet browser.

If you are using a Samsung, please double-check that you are using the device's native browser when logging in.

Hope this helps,

So I got an email reminding me to "accept the solution", so I just wanted to post again that I have no solution, so if y'all want me to give you a gold star, you're going to have to give me a better answer :)

Good afternoon @JDoetsch,

Thank you for your patience! We'll be happy to take a deeper look so we can get you logged into HBO MAX.

Please share which AT&T service and plan you currently have so we can further assist you.

Hello,

I apologize for the delay in response, I didn't get an email notification.

It seems whatever the problem was, it's been resolved. Not sure what the issue was, probably something on the back end for either you or HBO.

My Samsung Note 10+ is doing the same thing. Tried disabling Google Chrome and then the login process comes to a dead stop when I select my provider (ATT). Error message says "No Activity found to handle intent. { act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=https://comet/api/hbo/com:443/... pkg=com.android.chrome (has extras) }

Same as unclebuggies on a Samsung S20 5G.

Have talked with 6 people at ATT, always say will have it fixed and/or will call back ... neither happens.

I am having the same problem - I followed the instructions exactly and the App tries to open a page that never loads.....it remains blank no matter how long I wait.

HBO Max is included free in my wireless plan.  I do not have a "TV" plan with AT&T, just the wireless plan.

I downloaded the app to my iPhone 12 (iOS 14.1).

I tap on my profile icon and choose "sign in".

I tap on "sign in my by tv or mobile provider" but *don't* allow it to use my TV provider as per the instructions, and instead I am presented with the list of providers from which I tap on AT&T.

It then asks if it can launch a page to sign me in (I can only cancel or continue so I tap on continue).  At that point it launches a page to auth.hbogo.com

That page - auth.hbogo.com - never ever loads up.....if I try to access the same URL from a laptop browser I get a 404, so perhaps that page no longer exists?  If not then the App needs to be updated to go to the correct sign in page.  This is very frustrating.

And yes, I've tried the troubleshooting steps - deleting and reinstalling the App, clearing my browser cache and history, been through it all several times with the same results - the App tries to launch a page that never loads.

Wow I'm really sad to hear about your experience....it seems unlikely that I'll get this resolved but if I do manage to I'll post anything I found helpful.

While having access to HBO Max was not at all a factor for me in switching to AT&T, I thought it was a nice fringe benefit that I'd like to be able to take advantage of. It works great on my computer, and from there I can share it to my TV via my Roku (but I can't access it directly yet - and may not ever be able to - on my Roku).....but it would be nice to get it working on my cell phone for when I'm traveling.
