Using thermostat without digital life

Our thermostat seems like it has been set "automatically" since we cancelled our digital life system.  Are we not able to set the thermostat  ourselves without having the digital life service? If we can set without digital life, how do we do it?  We can't even raise the temperature in our own home.

Thanks for any input.

Hello,

The thermostat will always run a program so it is best that you change it to settings that are more comfortable for you. I pulled information from the manual that will help you set a program that better suits you.

Your thermostat comes pre-programmed with preset temperatures for different times of the day.

  1. Heat - Runs when you have the heat on.
  2. Cool - Runs when you have the AC on.

These programs will always run but If they do not fit your needs, you can always input a custom program. If you manually change the temperature, it will revert back to the program above at the designated time.

TO CHANGE THE PROGRAM: (The HEAT program and the COOL programs are separate.)

  1. Make sure the thermostat mode is set to either HEAT or COOL
  2. Touch MENU then touch PROGRAM. This puts you at the PROGRAM screen
  3. PROGRAM SCREEN:
  4. The programmed start time is displayed in the upper left. The TIME SLOT icon indicates the active TIME SLOT in the default program [MORN, DAY, EVEN, NIGHT].
  5. The programmed Target Temperature is shown on main display.
  1. Select the day you want to program.
    1. The day of the week starts at SU - Sunday and can be advanced to the day you want to program.
    2. Touch the day of the week area to cycle through the days of the week to the desired day. The HOLIDAY is at the 8th day position and has two time slots.
  2. Select the time slot (period) you want to program (MORN, DAY, EVEN, NIGHT).
    • Touch the time slot area to cycle through to the desired period.
  3. Select the desired start time of that time slot.
    • Touch the time arrows to select the desired period’s starting time. Hold arrow down for fast time scrolling.
  4. Select the desired target temperature for that time slot.
    • Touch the +/- arrows to select the desired period’s temperature.
  1. To COPY one day’s programming to the next day, touch COPY DAY once.
    • The information for the current day will be copied to the next day which will appear on the screen.
  1. Holding down COPY for over 3 seconds will copy to all 7 days.

Touch the HOME ICON to return to the Home screen.

TO MANUALLY CHANGE TEMPERATURE:

  1. Touch the +/- arrows to select your desired Target Temperature. This temporary change in target will revert to the programmed target at the next time slot .
  2. Touch HOME to return to operation.

I realize this is quite a bit to get your thermostat working with the ease of Digital Life but it does work.

Hello,

I found the programming instructions here: Link to CT-50 Programming

I hope this will help you adjust the programming.

You can control your system temperature by using the thermostat. you do not need Digital Life to manually control your thermostat.

Thank you for the response. The problem seems to be that we cannot get it off program.  And we cannot raise temp more than 70 degrees. If  we try, it jumps back down to 62. If we can get it out of programs, I think it would work. How do we do that?

Good Morning,

Thank you for the picture of your thermostat. I'm checking into what may be causing this issue so you can control your temperature.

* VERY IMPORTANT:

Has your Digital Life System's main controller been disconnected from all power or uninstalled?

This is one of the strangest things I have ever seen! Last night I was able to raise the temperature and it stayed till this morning where it automatically dropped back down to 62. It still says "temporary" at the bottom of thermostat.

As for your question, I don't know.  I assume so since we stopped DL monitoring? How do I know for sure?

I REALLY appreciate you trying to help  with this.

Hey there,

I am reading the manual at this moment and I believe I have found the cause. The thermostat comes pre-programmed from the factor and runs a program automatically. And guess what that program does at 8am each morning...Yep, you guessed it, it returns the temperature to 62 degrees.

There is a way to reprogram it but I am trying to find a way to simply turn off the programming so it will remain at whatever temperature you select.

Give me a little while and I will see what I can find for you.
