Voice Mail not Working on Landline

I still have a landline for business purposes.  I have a dialtone and can talk to people on the line.  But if I do not answer, it will not go to voicemail.  All I get is "We're sorry we cannot complete your call as dialed please check the number and try again".  I called At&t support last week and they corrected the problem.  It happened again this week and they keep sending a technician out to fix the problem.  When the technician comes they say that it is an ATT internal problem and cannot help me.  I explain to the technician that they were able to internally fix the problem last week, so they should just do whatever they did last week to fix the problem.  When the technician goes back to the office to discuss the internal problem, they acknowledge that they were able to fix it but have no notes to identify how they fixed the problem.  I am so frustrated right now!!  I have read on the forums that a "voicemail box reset" has helped. Any advice as to how I can get ATT to do this?  Whenever I request this they just send out another technician........

Thank you for reaching out to us, and we're here to help you in resetting your voicemail box.

 

There are few steps which can reset your voice mailbox: 

  1. Go to your MyAT&T account overview.
  2. Scroll to Voicemail and select Check or manage voicemail.
  3. Choose Voicemail Settings.
  4. Select Change PIN in General Preferences.
  5. Enter your new PIN and confirm by re-entering it.
  6. Select Save.

Additionally, please go through the article for resetting the voicemail box.

Hello Irene,

I've tried that and it does not work.  The issue is that when I don't answer my phone, the line will not switch over to my voicemail, so changing my password isn't really related to the issue.  I have a new password but ATT system will not transfer to the voicemail., so I can login. On December 12, 2023, I called ATT and they fixed the problem internally.  Now it has happened again but they keep sending technicians out who cannot help.  What the forums are suggesting is a "voicemail box reset" at the ATT internal level.
