Transfer a Landline number to a cell phone
I currently have an AT&T Landline. I would like to keep my number, but have it used on a cell phone. The cell phone provider is asking for a transfer PIN. What is the process of me getting the PIN from AT&T?
Thanks, Jim

Hi jlint3024, we'd be glad to address your inquiry about transferring your home phone number to cell service.
Your phone service is not considered POTS, since it's connect to your Internet. POTS is phone service directly from the telephone pole.
In order to initiate this change, you'll have to give us a call at 800-288-2020, as this is not something that we can handle here in the Forums.
If you have any other questions, just let us know.
Thanks for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums team.

I do have a traditional landline (POTS), it is 'uverse' service bundled with internet. The reference topic refers to the account number with a few extra digits, however my account number is not my phone number but a 9 digit number. Where my phone number is listed on my ATT bill has a 3 digit number prefix, so the reference topic does not seem to help my situation. I do have a value for a passcode in my profile, I wonder if that is the magic bullet???
