Phantom 911

I have a landline in California. The local police department says that they received a 911 hangup call from my address. We didn't call.

The 611 repair number no longer exists. None of the service or help links on att.com work for the landline product and I don't see a way to get the line checked.

Anyone else have a similar issue or suggestions? Thank you.

Did you call or do you know anyone with a 9-1-1 in their phone number.

Years ago (so I don't know it this still holds true), the PD called and asked if someone had called 911.  We had not but then I realized that we has just called xxx-x91-1xxx.

Unless it continues to happen, I wouldn't stress about it.

Thank you so much for the response. I saw a post about that very scenario when I googled.

We don't have any contacts with 911 in their numbers. There's been lots of bad weather recently so it might be related to that.

Luckily the PD calls before they dispatch so we haven't had police show up. Hopefully this won't be a recurrent thing so we don't waste the PD's time.
