Landline continually disconnects since upgrade to AT&T fiber optic internet
Hi -
Ever since I upgraded to AT&T fiber internet (2 weeks ago), I have had repeated problems with my landline ( which I always use) disconnecting. When looking at the gateway setting, it first said the phone line was “Registered.” A moment later, it was “Down.” Then a message appeared saying, “Voice Line 1 has been successfully restarted.” This has been extremely frustrating and irritating! So it appears the phone repeated loses the signal. Thanks for any suggestions.

Just to get the terminology right you have AT&T digital phone, not a landline. Have you reset the modem? If not try that and if that doesn't work you'll need to report it.

Thanks for the terminology tip (though I really wish I did have a good old-fashioned landline). What is the best way to reset the gateway - through the SmartHome app? by pressing the red "reset" button on the back of the gateway? by just unplugging the gateway?
Thanks for your help and any suggestions.

I'd use the reset and if that doesn't work unplug it for 30 seconds or so. If neither fix it you're back to having to report it.

So far, so good. I was having printer problems since the switch to fiber optic, as well. When a friend came to fix that for me, one of the things he did was reset the router. Hopefully, everything continues to work OK.
Thanks for your help.
