Can't Create A User Id with AT&T

Whether, I type my phone number or the account number plus the zipcode

I get an error saying "That information doesn't look quite right. Try again."

I tried different browsers on my computer, cleared cookies, cache, and browsing history, but get the same error.  I don't have a mobile device or another computer.

We want to help with your myAT&T registration, @BryanH60

Here are a few things you should double-check when creating your User ID:

  • Make sure you're using the wireless number of the primary device on the account.
  • Make sure you're not already registered on myAT&T. (This could be the case if you have other services with us, like TV or Internet. If you do, you will need to select the Forgot ID option on the login page.)
  • If the IMEI is used, make sure it matches the IMEI present in the billing system.
  • Make sure you're using the correct online registration code (ORC). If your primary device is a tablet, you won't be able to receive the ORC and our team will need to assist you with your registration.

Please let us know how this helps. Thanks for reaching out to our AT&T Community!

You don’t need a wireless device but you posted in the wireless forum, so ATTHelp presumed you were a wireless customer. Moving thread to the landline forum.

Hi @BryanH60, we'd be happy to help you get online to pay your Landline bill.

Here are a few steps you can follow to gain access to your online account:

  • Sign in to the AT&T Customer Center.
  • Select View Bill or View Current Bill.
  • Do one of the following:
    • Choose a new date to view another bill.
    • Select Print friendly format to print a bill.
    • Select Your Account Summary and then Pay Now to pay your bill.
    • Select View all payment settings to see stored payment methods.

As a reminder, you cannot view your Landline account through the myAT&T app.

If you are still having trouble, we also recommend you calling the customer service line at 800.288.2747 during normal hours of operation.

Please reach back out if you require additional assistance.

@ATTHelp I can't find 800.288.2747 on the page you linked and I looked through all the services. Doing a Google search the only place I find that number is for repair service, but it's not on an AT&T site. The only number I find for customer service is the 800-288-2020 number. Could you clarify please?

More searching brought up Your AT&T Local service Guide with a date of 2007. That number is also listed as a spam number in 800 Notes.

How I am supposed to do all that since I can not create a user id. That information is for users who created a user id.

Have you tried calling the 800 number supplied by ATTHelp? If you have and still no go I'd escalate to a customer care executive by filling out the form. Ignore the header.

I faced a similar issue, and when I navigated, I found that the IMEI number I entered was incorrect. I had a mistaken insight of what it is, and that was where the problem lay. My issue, after I corrected the mistake, was resolved. Thanks to At & t team.

@spoom2 I received a call from att business relations, regarding creating a user id through a form I submitted.

The guy on the phone, try creating a user id himself and got same errors I did. So he is going to escalate the information to another department to find resolution or solution to allow me to create a user id.
