bl102 answering machine - cannot change outgoing message

When I try to follow the instructions to change the outgoing message on my BL102 phone, the menu option says "Not Available" when I should be getting the option that allows me to record a new message.  Any idea why & how to overcome?

Scroll to Answering Sys

Press Menu/Sel

system then displays Not Available

As long as you're doing it in the idle mode looks right. You'll need to call the support number in the front of the manual.
