After 3-months, still unable to get a traditional landline service transferred to AT&T that has existed since 1963 in Grand Rapids, MI

Since 10/28/2022 I have been unable to get a problem resolved finishing getting a landline transferred from our old landline provided to AT&T. On one call back on 11/7/2022 the phone number was changed in error from a landline to a mobile number. I made 13 calls between 11/8/2022 & 12/16/2022 to get it corrected, finally a service representative on 12/16/2022 was able to provide me credit to a bill for mobile number that had been setup in error, but I had to go to a local store because besides the error setting up the mobile number they also had the wrong name. Once the name was corrected, I was told all that would be needed was a quick call to change the porting from the mobile number back to a landline. I made 4-additional call in December, 2022 trying to get the landline setup to no avail. On 1/4/2023 I made 8-calls, talked with 20-people, and was told 2-times I would receive a call back that I never received. Now on 1/14/2023, I made 3-calls, talked with 6-people, and once again told I would get a call back. In total, I have 1-trip to a local store, made 33-calls to numerous numbers, logged 15-Hours & 17-minutes, and nothing is resolved. Latest work order number received from 1/4/2023 is N0174057588.

If you want to port from cell service to a landline the first thing you need to know is your location available for a landline. Just because you had landline service if digital service is available, they most likely won't offer plain old phone service. They're phasing them out and once release they're gone. If you know landlines are available to you and you're not getting anywhere file an FCC complaint. FYI AT&T seldom if ever calls back, even if they say they will. Are you sure AT&T serves your area since you said you want to port from your old landline carrier.

Thank you for the response, I believe I will file a complaint with the FCC, I never knew that was an option. My next plan was to contact the local news for assistance hoping AT&T would not want bad publicity. I have a list of all the calls made since October that were made on my cellular phone, and AT&T told me 3 of the 5-work orders that were created.

I know the service is available because I had service with a different provider until the end of October when I was forced to change to AT&T, and we had it all setup to switch to AT&T, but it never happened. I live next door to my parents and they still have their landline.

Additionally, in late summer when we still had landline service with a different provider there was construction in the road out front of our house and the contractor cut the main line 3-times, AT&T came out to fix it, repaired the line, ran new lines, and added a new green box between our houses.

When following up in early November on why service was not activated my wife called and an overseas customer service rep. changed out number from landline to cellular, so I was told by an AT&T rep. in December that the porting just needs to be changed back from cellular to landline.
