Divorce related email question....

My spouse and I are getting divorced.  He moved out of the house in 2019, however, the landline/internet are still in his name.  He refuses to transfer billing responsibility to me even though the service is located at my house and I pay the bill.  His reason is that he has a personal email that is set up with ATT and he thinks either:

  • I will be able to access his email
  • He will lose access to his email

Is this true?  Is there a way my spouse be able to keep his email and have full control over it if he transfers the ATT account to me?

Hey @Reneewood4865, let's look at your email together.

Yes, your spouse will be able to keep his email if he decides to transfer or discontinue services with AT&T.

We hope this helps.

What does this have to do with home phones?

The email is housed under the same account as the landline.

Thanks for responding back @Reneewood4865.

You will not be able to access the email account without login or recovery information. We'll just be transferring the billing responsibility to you.
