Setting up an online account for a land line - why is this so hard?
Trying to set up an online account for my parent's home land line which they have had since 1977. I can get no one on the phone who can help me, I am just sent to the website to create an account which asks for the phone number and a seven digit customer number that appears no where on the bill despite the graphic that shows where it is supposed to be on the bill. There is a customer account number on the bill which is the phone number plus a four digit number. So I can't even request the code to be sent to the land line! ATT Chat person was very helpful and directed me to the landline support team who has absolutely no idea what I am trying to do or how to help me.
I am interested in trying to set up their internet through ATT Fiber so I can bundle it with the home land line account but not if I can't resolve what seems to be the simplest issue. Can anyone advise me on this?
Frustrated but still hopeful,
KEO

I would consider what I have been through with them to be criminal, but that's another story. They just don't give a (Edited per community guidelines).
