Dropping the landline carrier
My folks want to drop ATT landline, but keep the phone number they've had for years. They both have cell phones with established numbers for several years. Is it possible for them to keep the landline number and somehow forward the calls from that number to their cell phones ?

Yes they can keep the number but only if they pay for service for that number. Once a number is no longer in service, you get a number not in service response when you call it. It can’t be forwarded. They either need to keep the landline or port the number to cellular to keep the number.
