Call Protect feature work?
Trying to activate the “Call Protect” feature to stop some of the many many “unavailable caller” spam calls. When I get to the page to activate the feature, I get a purple JSP Processing Failure, HTTP code 500 error. Freezes the page. Does anyone know if this feature works? We do have a voip phone.

I'm talking about devices you put between your line and your phone or built into the phone. They can be used in various ways, you need to pick one that fits your needs. Let Google be your friend.

From nomorobo's Q&A's
Can Nomorobo Landline block private or unknown callers?
Nomorobo Landline cannot outright block all private/unknown/anonymous robocalls. We can block some, and reporting them does help. Most phone carriers offer their own tools such as "Anonymous Call Block" so check with your phone carrier for additional options.
From reading information on nomorobo its biggest advantage is they have built a large spam list. Most third-party call blockers will block unavailable/unknown calls, plus you can build a whitelist so only calls on your list come through. The advantage of third-party call blockers is they are not regulated so you can block more things. The disadvantage is you have to be careful not to block calls you need to get through.

Gonna leave AT&T and this forum now. Not getting anywhere fast. The funny thing is … ATT support offers DM to two posters that are having the same issue and not the guy who originated the post in the first place (me)! Whata waste of time!

This is to address the accepted solution posted by @Howiehstat1 You stated you worked with tech support for over an hour with no solution at the bottom of the first page. Ace @sandblaster told you digital call protect wouldn't do what you were looking for and the link was posted from an AT&T link that supported what @sandblaster stated. The members who were sent a DMs didn't get a resolution either. I posted information that would resolve your blocking issue and also stated that no one on the board could fix a broken AT&T website. I don't care one way or the other if you discontinue AT&T service over not being offered a DM and I agree with you that the OP should be addressed by @ATTHelp before another member who tacks onto a topic. But to say you were not offered help by your fellow board members is just not true. AT&T has way too many broken websites.

Someone removed it as a solution, now it's in chronological order which makes more sense anyway.

@ATTHelp, Still waiting for DM -- Alerts, Notifications, Offers all remain at 0. It would probably be much more constructive to connect to Howiehstat1. I'm sure he will tell us if Call Protect starts working. Last I checked, it still doesn't.

Well, Mr. Hacker, are you setting this up to post a spam link? It doesn't take a compatible phone and it doesn't block anything, although call blocking is a feature of AT&T Phone. You must not have read the posted link on the first page. Call Protect is a feature of AT&T, not all carriers, though most have similar features as it was mandated with the passage of Stir-Shaken.
