Call Protect feature work?

Trying to activate the “Call Protect” feature to stop some of the many many “unavailable caller” spam calls.   When I get to the page to activate the feature, I get a purple JSP Processing Failure, HTTP code 500 error. Freezes the page.   Does anyone know if this feature works?  We do have a voip phone.

We can help you set up Digital Phone Call Protect, Howiehstat1.

We suggest clearing your browser's cache and cookies to refresh both it and the website. You can also try a different browser.

Make sure you're following the steps directly from the Digital Phone Call Protect page:

  1. Go to your myAT&T account overview.
  2. Locate the My digital phone section and choose Check or manage voicemail & features.
  3. Select Phone Features.
  4. Choose Call Protect.
  5. Follow the prompts to turn on Call Protect.

Let us know if you still need help.

I tried a PC and then an iPad… same error messages on both devices.

Try flushing the DNS cache, Howiehstat1.

  1. Open Run/Search “CMD” to launch command line and type the following:
  2. ipconfig /flushdns
  3. C:\> ipconfig /flushdns

You should see:

Windows IP Configuration

Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

I'm not real familiar with digital call protect, but I doubt it will block unavailable calls. Unless the rules on what the phone companies can block are different for call protect.

I’ve got the call protect active on my digital landline. I don’t believe it blocks any calls and I still get “unavailable” calls. What it does do is show “suspected spam” on many incoming calls.

AT&T's link on digital call protect states what @sandblaster posted.

After an hour with ATT support team today where the nice tech tried many things: reloaded permissions and “accepted” all the profile questions (“You’re All Set”), stopped and started the voip phone link, etc. … still no luck.  I flushed the dns from a PC as ATTHelp recommend above (pics included below); still no luck.   Hopefully someone will see thus and set me straight.
