To everyone thinking of upgrading in order to get the HBO Max. You will NOT get it. I've spend HOURS on their "support" calls and nobody has any idea why my account still shows it's ineligible to get HBO even though I've signed up for Unlimited Elite. Their websites just loop back and forth. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau soon to file a formal complaint.

After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau a week ago, AT&T has now fixed my account so that HBO Max works.
