HBOMax AT&T login link taking me to DirecTV login
We are trying to sign in to HBOMax on the Roku. We select "Sign in with Provider", then click on AT&T because we have Uverse. However, the AT&T link takes us to a DirecTV sign in page, and our Uverse login credentials don't work.

Hey there @Mellie08. Thanks for reaching out to us, and we'd be happy to help you get signed into your HBO Max account.
To get started, we'd recommend deleting and reinstalling the app on your Roku Device. This could help with the app sending you to DIRECTV instead of U-verse to sign in. Also, are you able to sign into your HBO Max account on any other device, or does it send you to the DIRECTV login too. This will help us in figuring out the next step will need to take to get you logged in.
Let us know if this helps.

Hello, having the same issue here on my side as well. I already reinstalled the app on my phone but that did not work. I also tried logging in on a web browser but that also led me to the DirectTV login. Is there any solution to this?

It seems that clicking on AT&T when signing in with a provider for HBOMax on any device, such as my browser on my laptop, leads to the DirecTV log in.

Hi there, @Mellie08. We understand that your HBOMax sign in is redirecting you to DirecTV. Let's look at that together.
First, let's look at your account. Follow these steps:
If you are not able find the HBOMax tile try downloading the HBOMax app on your phone or smart tv and go to activate.hbomax.com and enter the code on your smart tv. The use Sign-In with provider and choose AT&T and enter in your AT&T username and password.
If these steps do not work, please return here and update us.

Any way you can elevate this to whatever development team works at AT&T for Login or HBOMax? It seems like it's an error on HBO's end where they're sending everyone trying to login to AT&T to the DirecTV page... OR AT&T's login portal / URL specific for HBO Max is broken and it's dumping everyone in DirecTV. This doesn't seem like a user issue but a website / platform issue. HELP! @ATTHelp We want our HBOMax back. Thank you.

Hey, @ATTHelp. Unfortunately, that method does not work. First, it doesn't address the issue with the Roku. Second, when I click on "Stream HBOMax", I am still taken to the same sequence referenced in my original post. I have to "Sign in with a Provider", and when I click on "AT&T" from there, it STILL takes me to a DIRECTV login page. Since we have UVerse, this will not work for us. So this is either an AT&T issue (the link they provide to HBOMax is wrong), or this is an HBOMax issue (both AT&T and DIRECTV links take them to DIRECTV). I get that AT&T Uverse is basically a legacy platform at this point (I am helping my mother with this), but you still need to provide the same level of service to Uverse customers as they had before unless you're going to completely do away with that platform.

Please note, @ATTHelp. I decided to test this with another channel where I may need to login in with a TV Provider. When I attempted this on Starz, I was still taken to an AT&T page, not the DIRECTV page like HBOMax.

We will send you a Direct Message to look into this further, Mellie08. Look for the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page.

I have the same exact problem. Clicking on AT&T takes me to Direct TV login, and I'm not a Direct TV customer. I would really appreciate help getting my free HBO Max working.
