HBO Max "Can't verify subscription"

I am supposed to receive HBO Max free with my internet 1,000. Despite multiple calls to AT&T help, I am still getting the "Can't verify subscription" when attempting to sign in through  my AT&T account. My email and password are correct. My account overview page does NOT have a start streaming HBO Max tile.

Hi, @Akros, we're happy to help with your HBO Max subscription.

If signing in through myAT&T gives you an error message, try signing up directly through HBO Max and let us know if you still get an error.

Try using a computer for registration. You may need to clear the cache and cookies.

Be sure to visit the HBO Max Help Center as well if you have trouble signing in on the website with your email or password.

We'll be here if you still need assistance.

Unless you are paying HBO directly, you MUST sign up through your provider on the HBO Max site. My provider is AT&T, not HBO.

I did finally get this resolved by filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. AT&T took a week, but eventually referred the problem to the proper department.

The HBO Max Help Center is worthless if you cannot activate HBO Max on your AT&T account.

This is a known problem with AT&T and they CAN fix it. Instead they choose to  waste their customers' time with multiple phone calls, suggestions that this is a problem on HBO's end (it isn't), and ridiculous fixes that don't work.

AT&T has to activate your HBO Max account. This should be a simple task.

A year has passed and they still haven't fixed this problem.  Wow.  Like @Akros, I'm supposed to get free HBO Max with my internet 1000.  I've been passed around from department to department at AT&T, spending hours on hold and explaining the situation over and over again.  Now they're telling me that I'm too late because the "promotion" has expired.  Promotion?  Nonsense.  If it were a promotion, I would have been notified, especially if it were a limited time offer.  My bill says that my Internet 1000 comes with free HBO Max.  Period.

Come on, AT&T.  Flip the switch, update the table, do whatever you have to do, but ACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!
