On tv mode, the back button is not working using DirectTv universal remote

I'm trying to configure LG UJ6300 TV's remote on Directtv smart remote. Most of the buttons works fine but, the most annoying thing is the back button is not functioning at all. SO, If I switch to any app I can never for back I had to turn off the tv and reopen the app and select a new program.

Note: the back button works fine on DirectTV mode.

Can anyone help troubleshoot the issue?

Let's see if we can help get your remote functioning again, @katmaurya.

Here is more information on how to program the Universal remote. We recommend programming the remote so that it can function properly, and control your TV and receiver.

Let us know if this helps.

I did try this already, the setup just makes the remote to operate the tv, but my issue is the back button doesn't work on TV mode.

AFAIK DTV remotes only have codes for on/off and volume they are not made to control any other TV functions.

The back button is intended as a DirecTV only button.

The only functions the DirecTV remote will control on the TV are On/off (power), volume, and TV Input. On some TVs if you have a input selection screen, you can use the arrow keys and select button to choose the input.

The RC6X series remotes (white universal) was designed and coded before TVs had all these smart apps. So it wasn't built with them in mind. Going forward DirecTV's RC6X drops all the additional "universal" fluff, and keeps it to the intention of support DirecTV only. You want to mess with TV apps, use the TV remote or get a 3rd party universal remote.
