We'd love to help program your DIRECTV remote control  to your receiver, @userferguson.

Are you using a universal remote control or a Genie remote control? What model is your Directv remote control?

The model number is always printed in the upper left corner of your remote control.

To get started, please use the Remote Control Code Lookup to check the correct code for your remote control. Select the Directv remote control and then Add New TV or Add New Satellite. You can also view this article to get tips on how to program your Universal Remote Control.

Let us know if you need anything else!

If you were unable to find a working code for your device, @userferguson, you can perform a code search. The process may take up to 30 minutes.

  •  Turn on your device. Insert a tape or disk if applicable.
  • Slide the mode switch to the TV, AV1 or AV2 position, as desired.
  • Press and hold the "MUTE" and "SELECT" keys at the same time until the green light under the selected switch position flashes twice, then release both keys.
  • When the device turns off or performs the action you selected in step 5, press and release the "SELECT" key.

Note: If the light flashes 3 times, you've cycled through all codes and the code for your device was not found. You must use the remote that came with your device.

If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for contacting us on AT&T Community Forums!
