DirecTV randomly turns off and on

Over the past couple of months my DirecTV will randomly freeze, turn off and then back on. Sadly, it usually happens when I’m watching something important. Seems odd for this to occur so I’m hoping for some input from experts on the potential cause of the issue.

No, not getting any error messages at all. I did refresh my equipment twice but still suffer from the same on/off issues.

Hi @jdents,

what model receivers do you have, and are they wired or wireless?  Does this happen on all or just one? Check out the article to troubleshoot freezing and pixalation. We look forward to your reply.

Well no random turn offs or ons this evening thus far. Perhaps the refreshing of the equipment worked this time.

I am having the same problem, just no freezing occuring. No error messages, the small box(newer box) will just turn off out of nowhere and after it comes back on after just 5 minutes it turns back off. I have to hit the reset button Everytime but only lasts 5 minutes, my last box did this the moment it was installed. They put this one in and been fine for 2 months, now it's doing something very similar, ever heard of this?
