screen saver comes on too quickly after hitting pause

they keep making changes... but some i do NOT like

used to be, after awhile on pause, the DirecTV logo would come on and ricochet around the screen.

then a year or so ago, they COPIED Xfinity and changed the logo, to beautiful scenic photos as a screen saver. That was ok.

Now a couple months ago they changed the screen saver to promos of movies and TV shows.

complaint #1:

now they changed the timing, so when i pause TV, in less than a minute, the screen saver pops on. When i pause to write down something on screen, like a phone number or website, it pops into screen save mode before i finish writing and i have to try to click a button to get it back to paused show, without unpausing the show. CHANGE THE TIMING BAK TO SEVERAL MINUTES

complaint #2:

with this new short timing... they also changed the ability to unpause. Used to be, i could grab the remote and hit play twice and set it down and get on with whatever i'm doing while the show continues. NOW you have to click a button to wake it out of screen save mode. but need to wait until you see the paused show before clicking play again to get the show to continue. YOU HAVE TO STAND THER WAITING AFTER THE 1ST CLICK FOR THE SHOW TO APPEAR, BEFORE YOU CAN CLICK AGAIN TO GET IT MOVING AGAIN...unacceptable waste of time and attention.

since you're listening...

regarding the LIST ...

complaint #1:

when i watch a recorded show, typically at closing credits i will hit the BACK button. That SHOULD take me back to that show & episode and makes it easy to delete.

But several years ago on a big software update it got screwed up and at that time more than half the time when you hit BACK it goes back to any random show. If one doesn't pay attention, it's too easy to delete the wrong show.

After a number of complaints, a couple years ago, it got somewhat better, but still, now, about a quarter of the time goes back to the wrong show, or at minimum, the wrong episode of a multi episode show.

complaint #2:

with one of those updates it changed the recorded show list so the show at the top of the list is expanded showing more details. Page down only moves the list by 4 shows. I have dozens of shows recorded and that takes too long to move thru them.

Take it back to the two step process using the INFO button to bring up the detail box, only if desired, allowing pagedown to take bigger steps.
