Resetting receiver as unplugging didn’t work

My receiver seized up.  I restarted the receiver 2Xs by unplugging it from wall. It is still giving error msg as “having difficulty starting up”.  I learned I can reset system but cannot find the right site on live to do this.  Last help!

I am not sure I can be of much help but ......

I think you are talking about retrying to refresh your receiver.

go online to your Direct tv account in the middle of the screen you should see “my equipment” click on it - on the next page you should see a list of your equipment - each has a link to “refresh” 


Question -when you unplugged your receiver did you wait a minute before plugging it back in

if neither of these works you may need a new receiver (contact customer service) 

note: this is a customer to customer forum not monitored by Direct tv
