My reciever in my bedroom has a message reading Retrieve Pin. What do I need to do to remove it

Sounds like a Mini Genie Client (not receiver). If so, on the main Genie go into the Whole Home settings and Manage Clients and you can re-pair the Client to the main Genie.
If this is a regular Genie (HR34, HR44, HR54), consider using your next free upgrade to replace the Client with an HDDVR. Does not rely on the main box to work, so will not have issues like have to pair again, and no difference in monthly cost. If you have the Genie-2 (HS17), then you are forbidden from HDDVRs as it only allows Clients.
