Receiver won't go into 1080p
I have enabled 1080p as my resolution on the DTV receiver and I have toggled through the various resolutions using the RES button on the receiver but it will only take me to 1080i....it will not go to 1080p.
My TV is capable of 1080p - it runs Netflix just fine from my Apple TV in 1080p...but any content through the DIRECTV receiver always comes in as 1080i. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Well, not all 1080p is created equally. DirecTV uses a rather unique 1080p @ 24fps format, which your TV might not support. Most HDTVs that support 1080p only support 1080p @30fps or 60fps. At any rate, it really doesn't matter. The only DirecTV channels that use 1080p are a few of the PPV movie channels. All of the broadcast channels are either 720p or 1080i (for HiDef), and 4k (for 4K). So it's really nothing to worry about.
