Play/pause and back a few seconds button won’t work on RC73 genie remote

Play/pause and back a few seconds buttons won’t work on RC73 genie remote. While watching live tv or something on dvr pushing the buttons only makes the sound effect noise. The rewind, fast forward, and 30 sec forward buttons all work.   Tried resetting remote but didn’t help.

Have you tried resetting your DirecTV box, including your main Genie DVR, using the red reset button?
