old Directv SD receivers

Do I need to return SD receivers R15-100 and D12-300?

No.  They're long out-of-date.  Recycle appropriately.

No as all SD and SDDVRs will become unusable once the last MPEG-2 feeds shutdown in April 2019.

 

The one exception is R22. Though labeled as an SDDVR, it is an MPEG-4 (HD capable) box. It is also a non-returnable model, but can still work after the MPEG-2 shutdown (provided the newer receiving dish has been installed). Just mentioning in case you or anyone you know has that unique model.
