No audio with new TV

Replaced Samsung TV with Sony TV; DirecTV video works, but no audio at all.  Apps (Netflix) audio works, but not DirecTV programs.

Is your D* receiver Connected direct to the TV? or are you using a AV receiver in between?

Be sure your connected to the (ARC) hdmi port of the new TV -as well

Finally got sound and picture by changing the HDMI settings:

To change the HDMI signal format setting, press the HOME button, then select [Settings] — [Watching TV] — [External inputs] — [HDMI signal format] .

Standard format  Standard HDMI format*1 for normal use.
Enhanced format (HDMI IN 2/3 only) High-Quality HDMI format*1*2. Only set when using capable devices.

To get High-Quality, the fine print in the almost useless Sony Reference Guide notes "Setup...use Premium High Speed HDMI cables".  I ordered one and will see if it works by providing sound along with the picture.
