IR remote is difficult to control c61k mini; receives duplicate signals

I had Directv 4k installed and the IR remote is difficult to control c61k mini; it receives duplicate signals. For example, if I press guide, instead of it going to the standard grid based guide, and wait for me, it goes to that grid and then immediately goes to a list of guide options. As if I pressed guide twice. Or, if I am in the guide and I click right, it goes 2 or 3 spaces to the right, as if I clicked 2 or 3 times.

The mini is stacked directly on top of the HR54 Genie, if that matters. Anyone else experiencing this?

We're here to help, @Scharfm!

In regards to your issue with duplicate signals, we suggest moving your Genie Mini further away from your Genie. Considering they are currently stacked directly on top of eachother, this could be creating interference when your remote is attempting to send signals to it.

If you do continue to have issues regarding this, we'd need to know what type of remote you have with your Genie currently. With that information, we'd be able to find the precise steps for troubleshooting your remote.

We hope to hear back from you!

@ATTCares I have a tech coming back tomorrow and we’ll see what he says. I mention your advice when he arrives. I also need him to pair two remotes with the two units as they both react to my commands including recording!!

@Scharfm the tech moved the c61k to another spot on the rack, instead of kn too of Genie, and that worked. no more issue. thanks!

i have a genie and a mini sitting side by side with two remotes. the installer set the remotes up to each machine seperately and i have no issues using em!!! i put the remote to the main genie in my desk drawer... since i just use the genie as a server.... i wish they would have put 4k in the main genie also but they didn't

Maybe side by side is better than having the client on top of the server. Tech coming tomorrow. Thanks.

The HR54 was to far into production when the 4K standard was changed to require an HDMI 2.0 port.
