gray pixelated picture when first turned on in AM

When our tv  (Direct TV)  is first turned on in the AM, after about 30 seconds, picture becomes gray and pixelated. I have to turn the tv off for a few minutes sometimes 2 or 3 times, then it clears up and no problems for the rest of the day. It is frustrating in the morning.

Hi @bellotta!

No worries, we've got you covered! We suggest that you power cycle your Internet gateway to see if this helps stabilize your TV service and help fix the picture issue.

We hope this helps!

Hi, @bellotta.

Please reset your DIRECTV receiver. There are a few ways you can do so. Check out this article we've put together for you. Does this correct the grey picture in the morning?

No, I still have to turn the TV off for several minutes (often 2 or 3 times), then back on. This fixes the problem. However, our receiver is NOT like the one pictured or described. It may be an older one. This AM I did follow your directions, turning off the receiver and unplugging it.....'didn't fix the pixellations.

Power cycle my internet gateway?

Pardon me, I can't stop laughing!

I don't have a clue what that means!

I'll just continue to turn the TV off and on x 3 or 4 in the AM, regretting the day we subscribed to Direct TV and praying the day comes soon when we will no longer have Direct TV!
