Genie series manager problem

Since getting genie, My series manager sometimes doesn't record scheduled shows or will record them only partially or on a channel I would have to pay for. Other times it works fine. This is really getting annoying.

Hi @Glaffy,

Going through your To Do List through the Menu of the Genie will show you what programs are scheduled to record and on what channels. If a program is set to record but on the wrong channel, you can cancel it, and set it up again on the correct channel. Also, in the Series Manager menu, you can change settings such as start/stop times of recordings, and options to record re-runs or just the 1st playing if an episode.

Thanks for reaching out!

No. This doesn't work. It sometimes will not give option for correct channel in series manager even though the guide shows the local channel as carrying and, in fact, recording the series.

I accidentally hit accepted solution. But this is inaccurate. Even though I set it to record on the correct channel it will sometimes record on one I don't get instead. Also, it will sometimes only record a portion of a show and then stop, or not record the beginning but only the last several minutes.

Hello @Glaffy,

Thanks for reaching out again.  It may be best to cancel that series through the Series Manager. Then set the recording back up through the Guide. Press the GUIDE button on the remote > go to the channel that is playing the program > Arrow to the right until you find the program > Press record button once to record that episode, and twice for the series. This will ensure you are getting the proper recording.

I'm having the same problem with the programmed show failing to pick up the next season of show episodes.  Programming through the "GUIDE" is a ridiculous solution.  I have missed the first few shows of a new season because the Genie failed to record.  Last night I realized I missed the first show of "Suits".  I missed the first show of the season.  Genie would only record season 6 and would not roll over to season 7 even after I told it to record future seasons.

Mine has been this way for YEARS!!! Every single episode of every single program on my series manager, I have to check upcoming programs and it's usually not set to record the upcoming episode, even though it's on my series manager. I delete it, re-add the series to record, over and over and over, some do, most don't work. NOW, since they updated the GUI, I can't even find my series manager or see any of the upcoming episodes anymore. I can't wait for my contract timeframe to be done with and I can be done with this company.

The series manager does not allow you pick the "first run" airing station.  When selecting a series to record, it will set up the series manager as "ALL CHANNELS", not the airing station.  Nowhere to update the series to the local channel!!

Following up here. I have the same issue. All of the Series Manager programs now have a (0) next to it, indicating that future desired episodes will not be recorded. I tried to reschedule one of the series to record by deleting it from the Series Manager and then re-adding all first run episodes. However, when I did this it set up the recording to all of the airings, not just the first run episodes. Can this be fixed?
