Genie HD DVR

Can the Genie HD DVR connect wirelessly to the primary TV without a separate Genie mini or does it require a direct wired connection (HDMI)?

We are happy to help, @jomeara61.

Learn about the features of the Genie Mini and the Wireless Genie Mini receivers through this detailed support article.

Only the Wireless Genie Mini can be used without a direct wired connection (HDMI).

Let us know if this is helpful to you, we are happy to provide more details if needed.

All DirecTV boxes require HDMI.

The only wireless option is a couple models of Mini Genie Client (C41W or C61W). It is still HDMI to the TV. You have a wireless video bridge (WVB) on the coax that serves as the wireless antenna to the wireless Mini.

TV's are only wireless to your home internet for streaming options only. TV providers (satellite, cable), game consoles, DVD players, etc. are all wired to the TV by HDIM, or older A/V cables.
