Genie Gen 2

If I disconnect both power and coax from my main box, a Genie Gen 2, will it automatically re-boot upon re-connect, or is there a re-initialization procedure that I must follow?

Hello @amoswmorse, let’s discuss your DirecTV equipment.

 

First we would like to clarify a few things about why you are resetting your equipment.

 

Are you experiencing some issues with your entertainment? If so please take a moment to visit our support page for assistance with specific issues.

 

With that being said upon disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord of the Genie 2, the system will reboot and after a few loading screens it will be back to normal service. Unplugging the coax cable is not necessary in order to begin a reboot.

 

Keep in mind you can also press the red reset button located on the right hand side of the Genie 2 tower near the bottom.
