Just adding to the chorus. I hate the new format and disappearing shows stop “improving”!

You should know that this is symptom of a bug in the latest Genie update. Workaround is to change the sort order (press "0"), or select and view recordings using the Genie's History Menu.
At least some of you got recent Updates........ I got the new GUI the end of May/ first of June then an update on 6/24/18 on my HR54-500. That "update" removed the colored Logo's next to the channel names on the Guide. So far, that's the last update I've received to my receiver.
Also, it seems to me I have to do a LOT more clicking than I did with the old guide. Example, When I click on MENU......... the screen appears with a blue box highlighted around the first show in the row titled "what's on now" . PLEASE leave the blue selection bar under the first title on the left side of the screen, which is "What's on Now". As it stands, I have to click to the left TWICE to move the cursor back to the main listing, then click 6 down more times just to get to SEARCH or click left once to get to "view guide", then click down.......which then highlights "RECORDINGS" next to "view playlist" then I have to click left to highlight the "View Playlist" box, then click down to "On Demand" , then Down again to "Discover", then down again to "APPs", then down again to "Settings" then FINALLY ONE MORE TIME DOWN TO "SEARCH". Really? This is what I'm talking about doing more clicking up, down, left or right just to do a simple task.
Good morning, @Md37bbc.
We appreciate you taking the time out to provide us with your feedback on out recnt update. We also would like to apologize for the inconvience you are currently experiencing and help you reach a sresolution.
Some errors can be fixed by restarting your system. This requires you to open your access card door and locate the red reset button. We also recommend you check your 'Filter by..' section and ensure your shows are not being filtered. This link will walk you through detailed steps to do so. Let us know if your problem persists. We are here and happy to help.

WE SHOULDNT NEED A WORK AROUND IN THE FIRST PLACE......AND AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED, THIS ISSUE IS NOT SOLVED.
Just wanted to note that the "press 0 to change the sort order" workaround does not fix the problem for me. I haven't yet tried going to the History menu to find the recorded shows that are missing, but I'll certainly try that the next time it happens. Incredibly inconvenient and frustrating to have to reset the receiver every time this happens, which has been 3-4 times per week for the past couple weeks.
Hello- I’ve reset the DVR about 5 times in the past week- I sort by “date recorded” and then by “alphabetical” (which consequently doesn’t go past “H” when I’m looking for “T”). I look under the different categories to no avail. I got a new receiver about a year ago and I can’t believe that it’s alrea having issues like this. It seems like all these issues started after they “improved” the menu...... what’s the reason for this? I wish they went back to the pre-ATT menu setup- much more user friendly
It’s not your DVR....it’s the NEW DISASTER OF AN UPGRADE AT&T FORCED ON US. I too prefer the old software program....but no matter how much we scream or threaten to,leave, the new program is here to stay. We keep hearing that it will get fixed when they release the next update. When that will be is anyone’s guess. The issue with duplicate series recordings in your list has been an issue and ongoing problem since DECEMBER 2017. Still not fixed. They also screwed up list of movies and tv shows if you want to know more about a specific actor. It tells you how many movies or tv shows they were in, but no names like before. So resetting your recorder doesn’t solve anything......so,don’t waste your time. Just keep pressing the zero a few times and they will show up eventually.
I now HATE DTV when something is good why try to make it better and make it worse
I hate the new guide and ever since they changed it my recordings are missing, I have to restart my box everytime
to get them to show up, and it is like on dial up it takes so long to come back up.
sometimes I can go to a different place to find the shows but I really wanted to watch something I have on my list and
it was all gone and so I thought I'll watch something else and it was gone, I am going to throw it out the freaking window.
I hate AT&T DTV always have been good to me but yeah the new updates make things not so good
The filter by does not help. My shows are still missing.... shows I record every day and/or week. When will this issue be resolved??????
Yep, another user with the same problems. Restart and sort do not fix the issue. However history does eventually allow us to find the recording but it's the worst user interface and so slow.
Missing shows HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED. On Aug 8 2018, I received the latest update which fixed the small FONT problem BUT MISSING SHOWS IS STILL A PROBLEM. i have over 20 years of systems analysis and programming experience, this is easy to fix, it is NOT rocket science. if your IT staff can't fix this in a timely manner, perhaps they need to be replaced OR out sourced along with getting NEW management.
PS:I AGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS REPLY, BRING BACK THE OLD SYSTEM, IT WAS MORE USER FRIENDLY AND RECORDED SHOWS WERE ALWAYS PRESENT.
NOTE: IF THIS PERSIST I WILL BE CHANGING BACK TO FIOS.
It's incredible that a problem this glaring and widespread is still not fully fixed after this long. How difficult can it be for a huge company like AT&T, with thousands of software developers, to debug and fix (and test!) a simple problem like this?? Utterly stupefying. I felt certain that the most recent software update (last week?) would have completely solved the problem, but apparently I didn't comprehend the level of incompetence of AT&T's DVR software team. This is another nail in the coffin when it comes to my loyalty to traditional cable/satellite TV. I'm paying over $100/month for a service that can't even keep track of my recorded shows???
ATT - when will this be fixed? It seems like this high impact bug has been an issue for a while. Recorded shows on our main Genie have been gradually disappearing from the recorded list, but the secondary Genie still listed the shows. I reset the box, and now shows are getting lost from both boxes. Selecting sort does not correct the issue. The use of history is not an acceptable workaround - to wade through a long list to try to find the correct episode is ridiculous. I don’t even understand why changes were made that introduced this issue. I do not see any customer benefits.
