Problems Using Alexa to Control my Directv

I have a Genie Gen 2 and a Genie Mini in my home. I have an Echo Dot connected to each of them through the Alexa app. Setup is correct and functional.  The Genie Mini connection is flawless while the Gen 2 control is sporadic. At times it works OK and other times I get  the " I'm having trouble connected to Directv please etc etc etc. Sometimes if I repeat the request a few times it will finally work and then work the rest of the session. Other times nothing seems to fix it. I have disabled/enabled the skill many times, checked the network connection on the Genie, tried different Echo devices, unplugged/re-plugged in the devices, reset the Genie, reset the wifi connection but the problem still continues. All the while the Mini operation is perfect. Normal internet access via the remote is fine no problem downloading or on demand.  Any help would be appreciated.

Alexa app needs update 12/11/2019. Every time DTV updates software on Genie, the Alexa app stops working. Please update this app and remove the version check.
