How To Delete Shows From Your Device - Mobile DVR

With Mobile DVR, you are able to take recordings with you while on the go! If you need to make space on your device and need to delete recordings, you must update some settings on your receiver first. Check out the information below to learn how!  

 

On Your Receiver

Press MENU on your DIRECTV remote, then go Setup-> Whole-Home-> Share Playlist-> Allow Deletion and select From All Rooms.

Once you have updated this setting, you can delete from the App. 

 

On Your Device

Press and hold the program you wish to delete, a red "X" will appear.  Press the red "X".

 

You can choose where you wish to delete the program from. Once you have chosen where you want the program to be deleted from you will then have to confirm that you want to delete the program.

I cannot delete programs from my directv app playlist. When I press delete, it says program cannot be deleted. When I go my dvr list on TV, the program is not on the playlist but still appears on app playlist and cannot be deleted.

Hi @Mishka422 and @Frosty1218,

 

You may need to reboot the receiver and try the above setting again. Also, restart you phone and modem to be safe.

I don't get a Red "X"...it is an "X" in a gray box. And when I hit the "X", it goes away but the program doesn't and nothing comes up.  What do I do now?  These shows have been viewed and deleted from my DVR and I would like to remove them from my DIRECTV app. 

 

By the way, my DVR is set (and has always been set) to allow deletion from all rooms.

I have the exact same issue with no resolution.  I did get a message from tech  support asking me to send them by contract ID and contact information. They responded back early this morning but never  included a resolution to the problem. Perhaps it was just an automated message. Nevertheless I'm still looking for a solution to the problem.   I did hear a rumor that they are revamping the application from the ground up. It really needs it because it crashes on my iPhone and it lacks attributes that can be leveraged from a newer version of iOS such as PIP.

It displeases me to learn the DirecTV App will not delete programs. This is not how the iPhone application should work. I am more than happy to help with this today!


Please try our great Troubleshoot and Resolve tool. For best results click Log in and sign into your myAT&T account. Select your model of iPhone, click Apps, and follow the steps until the issue is resolved.

Trying to delete my programs on Ipad, did all as instructed, but after I tried to delete program it said I could not delete the program at this time.  What difference does it make when I want to delete a program?  Please respond !!!

With newer iOS just swipe left and hit delete. So simple yet they make it so convoluted

That worked !   I clicked on the program name and then swiped left and got the red option to delete and then the further options of From DVR or From Mobile app only, etc.  

 

Why is this solution not shown by customer reps when googling  this?

I was not able to delete as the X was greyed out.  on the "My downloads" tab, to the left change from "poster view"  to "list view"  and then I could swipe left and a dialog button came up and allowed a choice of deleting from ipad or dvr or both.
