Audio is falling behind the Video when trying watch on my computer. I just made sure I had all the latest updates on required software for watching DIRECTV on my computer. Is there some way of getting them synced up? I don't have the problem on Netflix, etc.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled that ap. Day 1 it works fine after that it wont work at all. I have shows downloaded and showing on my downloads tab. So I click the show, it shows 3 of them and says it will expire from Ipad on 3/31, but the play button is gone. To correct the problem last time I uninstalled the app and reinstalled. That worked for 1 day.

Hi @powerstroke_13,
Sorry to read of the trouble you are having. You may need to open ports on the modem for the DVR. You can use: 8088 and 8089.
We do want to let you know, you run risk of people accessing that device.

I'm having the same problem. I was having so many problems with the app on my iPad that I deleted it and reinstalled it. Downloaded a bunch of programs, now I'm in the hotel room away from home and virtually none of the programs I downloaded from my DVR have the option to play. Only a few have the option to watch them and the only way I can watch is via streaming with the commercials and without the ability to fast forward. If I go to DVR Access, it says that my iPad cannot connect to my DVR but I check at home and they say it's working fine.
It's frustrating...you advertise it's my TV so take it with me but I have constant problems with the DirectTV app and often find I'm unable to watch my downloaded programs.

Hi @FrequentTrav,
You may have to register the iPad with the DVR since the app was uninstalled. This has to be done at home.
You will also see a new article for port forwarding. This may also help.

This is very frustrating that ATTDIRECTVCare will not address the issue with the app not playing recorded shows. I have the same problem while on the airplane. I find if I am connected to the Airplane wifi with no internet access the directv app thinks that I am online and because it can't find a connection it freaks out and will not show the play button on recorded shows. This will be a problem until I can open the app with an internet connection. This is a problem because I am on an Airplane and that is the reason I downloaded the shows to watch in the air. If i remember to shutoff my wifi before I open the App I don't have a problem with playing the downloads.

This app does NOT deliver. What a poor excuse for a completely over promised capability.
First, constant frustration to just get the app to consistently connect to home DVR at home on the same network etc. After resetting and reconnecting the DVR twice and several iPad complete resets and uninstall reinstall of the app, FINALLY was able to download a few programs from the DVR. Playback is a whole other saga. I can only guess that DIRECTV and ATT might be tracking some sort of analytics of what is viewed etc. as there is absolutely nothing that can get this app to start playback any of the downloaded content, if you do not have an internet connection. With Internet connection the app launches and eventually I was able to start playback. If wifi on the iPad is on, and there is no connection active, the app gets stuck in an endless loop of attempting to retrieve configuration and will not launch. If wifi is turned off the app will launch, but will not playback any of the downloads and crashes with an error that in essence says what you already know, you are not connected to the internet. Now, when I launched the app and started playback while I had an internet connection, paused playback, boarded my plane, then with wifi turned off, I was able to continue playback, but not able to launch playback of another video. I completely understand why so many people more and more opt to have no cable or satellite television service. With a fast enough internet connection and subscriptions to various streaming services available, the only selling point satellite and cable have is FOMO on the few trashy programs they have left that are not available over the air or streaming. Disconnecting and saving myself $1,500 or more a year is becoming a very real possibility for me. That is enough for a good chunk of a nice vacation for two of us. In previous versions of the app, when all you could do was view information, and or watch programs while on your same home network as your DVR, the app could accomplish this reasonably well, . . . most of the time. I was not going to be one of those suckers to pay $130 for a "Genie" to facilitate downloading programs for playback. Particularly since most of the reviews seemed to have limited or spotty success at best of this working consistently or smoothly at all. Now my hardware has not changed and this ability to "take your DIRECTV with you" is suddenly available without a special "Genie". If it would actually work reliably, smoothly and consistently, it would be a nice service convenience to have. As it is currently; nothing but a frustrating mess that is not worth the effort, and certainly not worth the premium cost of the "service" compared with streaming services like Prime, Hulu, Netflix, and so on.
