DirecTV app on second TV

I was told by my DIRECTV installer that you no longer needed to have multiple receivers because you could use the app on a fire stick or Apple TV to access your programming.  Is this true?

This would be incorrect, each TV used for viewing requires a receiver. You can however download the individual network apps (HBO, ABC, A&E, ETC...) and login with your DirecTV credentials to view their content.

You can also subscribe to DirecTv Now to stream to your devices.
