DirectTV app won’t connect

I recently upgraded to a whole home dvr.  The tech direct connected to the internet prior to the router using coax cable.  When I try to use the DTV app on my iPad it has a different IP address than the dvr/receiver and doesn’t find the dvr.  Does anyone have a fix for this or do I need to have the tech come back out and connect to the router via Ethernet?  There doesn’t seem to be a Wi-Fi option to connect. Any help is appreciated!

Hello @Pickinic,

Let’s get your app working again,

Since the IP address is assigned to the router how it is connected should not effect it. Also depending on what model of DirecTV receiver you have the ability to connect over Wi-Fi may not be available. You can follow these steps to see what type of receiver you have. In the meantime we will want to follow some troubleshooting steps to rectify this.

To begin we recommend making sure you have updated your iOS to the latest iOS 14 if possible.

Next we will follow these steps to ensure the application is ready to use.

  • “Forget” the network on your device.
  • Make sure the DirecTV application is updated
  • Uninstall/Reinstall the app
  • Restart the device
  • Go to device Settings and select TV Provider > Sign Out
  • Go to the app and log in

We hope this helps @Pickinic, please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
