Direct TV app

As of yesterday afternoon 3/5/19 I can no longer access my direct TV app on my IPod or IPad . I have been using this app for years ! It tells me to update app yet won't allow update - what's happening

What version of iOS does your Apple device currently have? The DirecTV app only supports iOS10 and above now.

DTV has also removed the ability to stream from your Genie.

.... when you're out-of-home network.  You can still stream from your DVR if you're connected to the same network as your Genie DVR.

It worked with my devices for 5 years - it worked at noon on 3/5 and by 4pm all of a sudden it didn't ! This feature was important to me . I can afford to go out and just buy new devices

Is this going to be permanent? Why would you not be able to stream unless at home?? I only use it when not at home, I’m regretting my switch from Dish Netword every.single.day

One would assume so as they are no longer supporting it.

I can't use my direct tv app no matter where I am - it was fine for 5 years and since March 5 they updated with AT&T and now my device isn't strong enough ( need 11 IOS
