Direct TV App Android. No Video, only audio, all channels

Use the app frequently and never really have issues. For the past two days all channels on the app show a black blank screen but audio is coming through, just no video. Attempted to uninstall and reinstall app and that didn't work. Contacted support and was told it was a known issue that should have been fixed "in an hour". This was yesterday. Any help is appreciated

This is shameful, I have had my new one plus 7 for a month now and  the app has never worked. It's definitely something with at &t and their failure to resolve the issue is disturbing.

Ok so I have a oneplus 7 pro, I installed v5.18.004 from apkpure and it now works. The. 005 update has issues. You need to delete current version and download and install older version. https://apkpure.com/directv/com.directv.dvrscheduler

Just read patstar5 - rolled back to 5.18.004 and it fixed it for me too. What a cluster _____ - one of the main functions and they couldn't get it right.

My dtv app also only has audio, no video. This is live stream on the dtv app. My phone is new. It's a Sony Xperia I ii. I also saw my carrier, att, and they said they have no idea, it has to be a problem with the app. I can watch youtube, vudu, netflix and so on.

I downloaded the dtv app on my brand new phone and went straight to att and showed them the dtv app. I've deleted and downloaded the dtv app as well. What's up? How do I fix this?

Hello @Wfp

We understand the importance of streaming access through the DIRECTV app and we're glad to assist you through our Forum.

We haven't discovered any problems relating to compatibility with the Sony Xperia phone; however, there very well could be something specific to the Sony device creating the issue. I just checked streaming via the app on a Google Pixel 4 and a Samsung device; no issues.

You are certainly running an updated Android OS, so that shouldn't be a factor. Often issues like this may be caused by other open apps. Be sure that all other streaming apps are completely closed and not running in the background. Does the issue occur on Wi-Fi, mobile data or both?

To the point of other download apps, there could be other apps creating the problem as far as performance or causing the device to behave unpredictably. For troubleshooting purpose, delete other streaming apps, then delete the DIRECTV app and reinstall. From that point, reinstall the DIRECTV app and try logging in again to stream.

Currently seeing this issue on my new Microsoft Surface Duo.  I have so far reinstalled the app, restarted phone, and cleared app cache data.  But nothing I have audio but do not get video on any channels.

The surface duo runs Android 10.

Check that you don't have a tethering/casting option on. If the app detects anything active that is intended to cast to a TV, the app will disable video. This is because this is for viewing on the mobile only, so they don't want people getting around paying for an authorized TV.

Interesting Juniper, so far I have turned off Bluetooth, Cast (Wireless Display) and tethering and cleared the app settings but no luck.  Will try reinstalling the app later.  But is interesting that it will just block the video and not give you any reason to go look at and resolve.

It isn't working on my Duo either. This isn't a phone issue. From what I've seen in these threads thus far, this is a known issue with Android that has been around for well over a year.

What's really irritating is that I bought this Duo From AT&T and their own app won't run on their own phone. I'd be interested to see if someone else in the thread has AT&T's new streaming option and can run the AT&T TV app that was pre-installed on the Duo. If they can, then it becomes obvious: AT&T doesn't plan to update or fix the Directv app since they've BEEN trying to gut Directv itself for the longest.
